I just finished reading about how you met your husband and eventually married. You put it down to synchronicity and how it changed your life. I so agree with you about this topic. My life has had so many such synchronicities. I truly understand how important it is to let life flow as it is happening instead of letting boundaries stand in your way. When I was 12 I started writing to a girl in London, England. We got connected through a teenage magazine. We wrote to each other for 9 years. In my senior year of college, I had the opportunity to study in London for a semester. I was excited because we’d finally have the opportunity to meet. During my time there, she had a housewarming party and I met my husband there. After a long distance relationship of 2 years we married in NY. I then chose to move to England for 9 years. We had our 2 sons there then moved back to the US. We have been married for 46 years. The odd thing is I never really got close to my penpal. It seems that she was the connection I needed to find my soul mate. So much gratitude!
What a WONDERFUL story! Those kind of friends pop up when you least expect it! He had an excellent response to your mom! I often felt rage at my parents while I was young. I applaud your decision! YES, everything in YOUR life WAS about your parents. Pardon me for saying this, but your parents weren't the proper fit for you AT ALL! This was FASCINATING! It WAS a SPECTACLE! Once again, you were living FOR your parents!
Thank you, Georgia. My life certainly changed for the better after he and I met. And it’s been quite a journey in self-discovery and self-reliance since then.

What an amazing story, Diane! And to think your penpal was merely a conduit. Thanks so much for sharing. The universe works in mysterious ways...
